Satan's False Support

I have been thinking a lot about the Atonement lately especially since my sweet visiting teacher's came over to talk to me about Christ's enabling power through the Atonement. It made me think about our Savior's love for each one of us and how we are enabled to rise above all the filthiness in the world. We can be enabled to overcome hardships or weaknesses we are trying to overcome. When I was reading in Mosiah 11, verse 6 and 7 really stood out to me....

 6 Yea, and thus they were supported in their laziness, and in their idolatry, and in their whoredoms, by the taxes which king Noah had put upon his people; thus did the people labor exceedingly to support iniquity.

 7 Yea, and they also became idolatrous, because they were deceived by the vain and flattering words of the king and priests; for they did speak flattering things unto them.

Satan is the one who will support us in our laziness and in our weaknesses. If we feel like there is a weakness or hardship that we can't overcome, then that is Satan trying to get us down and trying to make us feel justified in feeling that way by "supporting us". However, the support coming from Satan is coming in the wrong way. We need to instead turn to the support, love and encouragement that comes from our Savior, Jesus Christ. We need to use HIS enabling power to overcome those things in our lives and know that nothing holds us back from allowing His love and power to come into our lives!
